According to a post on the Hollywood Vampires' official Facebook page, the band partnered with Starkey in order to bring awareness to the foundation, which brings hearing aids to impoverished places around the world "where the hearing impaired are often unable to participate in life."

Matilda Ledger

Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell Made Incredible Gesture Following Heath Ledger's Death:

It is well known that Heath was never able to finish his last movie, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, and as a result director Terry Gilliam had to find a replacement in order to finish the project.

But rather than find just one he managed to get three, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell, who were so heartbroken by the young actor's death that they donated their wages for the film to his daughter, Matilda, who was not mentioned in his will as it was written up before she was born.

All three actors starred as three different versions of the character that Heath had been signed up to play.

Speaking at the time, director and former Monty Python writer, Gilliam, revealed their 'extraordinary' gesture.

He said: "They didn't take money - it goes to Heath's daughter.

Nicholas Cage

It seems as if not even Hollywood is exempt from the fact that life has a tendency to come full circle. Nicolas Cage saw his finances crumble this year, leaving the actor currently facing a tax bill of over $5 million. While Cage is in the process of suing his former financial advisor for mismanaging his funds, it looks like his dire financial straits may be temporarily fixed, and by none other than fellow A-lister Johnny Depp.

In a true “that’s what friends are for” move, the Public Enemies star has reportedly called his old friend to let him know that he will front “whatever he needs” to get him out of this crisis. Depp is generous in his financial and emotional support, possibly seeing the move as a way to pay Cage back for launching Depp’s stellar career: It was Nic who arranged for Depp, then an unknown musician, to meet with his agent, which led him to A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The 47-year-old actor splashed out the enormous sum on 500 waterproof hiking jackets costing £80 each for those on the set of the latest action movie, to protect them from the cold weather.

One crew member told The Sun: "Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof. It's a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood."

Filming of the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie is currently underway at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire in England, where the recent spell of cold weather gave the star the idea of treating his staff.

Makeup Artist

A makeup artist who lost her toes after contracting sepsis and meningitis has reportedly received a £5,000 donation from Johnny Depp after they worked on the new Fantastic Beasts film together.

Billie Watkins, 23, from London, was working on the new JK Rowling film in October 2017 when she came down with flu-like symptoms and hours after she finished her shift she was fighting for her life in intensive care.

Doctors gave her just a 10 per cent chance of survival and hooked her up to a life-support machine as her condition worsened into septicaemia and septic shock.

As her body fought to save her vital organs, circulation moved away from her hands and feet, resulting in all five toes on one foot requiring amputation.

Make-A-Film

A group of A-list talent came together in November to help 16-year old cancer patient Anthony Jonathan Conti fulfill his dream of writing and starring in his own film. Johnny DeppJ.K. Simmons, Laura Dern, Penelope Ann Miller, Chad Coleman, and Richard Chamberlain were joined by David Lynch, Catherine Hardwicke, Theodore Melfi, Sam Raimi, Peter Farrelly, and Sean Furst for The Black Ghiandola, a post-apocalyptic zombie story about a young man whose family has been killed and who risks his life to save a young girl he has grown to love. Filming took place November 18-20.

Conti, diagnosed this summer with stage 4 Adrenal Cortical Cancer, stars in and co-wrote the film with Scott Kosar (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), with additional writing by Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice). The production was made possible by the Make A Film Foundation, a nonprofit established in 2007 that helps children enduring serious or life-threatening medical conditions to create short film legacies by teaming them with industry professionals who volunteer their time.

The Mutiny

article-1318516-0B842091000005DC-67_468x

It's not every day a Hollywood heart-throb pitches up in your classroom.

But these Greenwich schoolgoers left the rest of Britain's children - if not parents - green with envy when they had a surprise visit from Johnny Depp yesterday.

The star is currently in south-east London filming the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie On Stranger Tides and arrived at the Meridian Primary School dressed in full character as Captain Jack Sparrow.

He made the one-off trip after nine-year-old pupil Beatrice Delap wrote to the star asking for help staging a 'mutiny' against the teachers, as he was filming at the nearby 18th century Old Naval College.

Crew Member Investigation

Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp launched his own private investigation into an on-set pervert he suspected was a voyeur, Daily Mail Online can reveal.

Kevin Thomas Roy, 38, an experienced assistant director, worked on 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' alongside the movie's main star Depp.

Roy has recently been sacked by Lionsgate while working on another film 'Allegiant' after it emerged he secretly recorded dozens of women by hiding spy cameras in bathrooms and movie trailers. Roy has pleaded no contest to invasion of privacy charges.

And Daily Mail Online has learned that Depp became suspicious of Roy's behavior on the Pirates' shoot in 2010 and asked his security detail to check him out.

Great Ormond Street

Several of the world’s major news networks have reported that the star of over 40 movies has given $2.2 million to the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Depp’s 8-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, was hospitalized in March after E. coli poisoning caused her kidneys to fail. Depp and his long-time partner, Vanessa Paradis, put their lives on hold during Lily-Rose’s 9 day illness, bringing the production of Depp’s new film, “Sweeney Todd”, to a standstill.

“To say it was the darkest moment, that’s nothing,” the 43-year-old actor told Entertainment Weekly. “It doesn’t come close to describing it. Words are so small.”

Depp also personally thanked Lily-Rose’s five doctors and nurses, and invited them to the premiere of “Sweeney Todd” in London last week.

The donation follows a surprise visit to the hospital on November 29, during which Depp spent four hours in character as Pirates of the Caribbean’s Captain Jack Sparrow – he had the costume sent over specially from Los Angeles – reading bedtime stories to the young patients.

The Great Ormond Street Hospital specializes in the most complex, life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. It regularly treats 150,000 patients a year. However, the government funding for the facility often falls short of the hospital’s needs, and the children rely on public donations for their on-going treatment. Depp has openly praised the work the staff did to help his daughter and the many other children and families that are treated there.

“It was the most frightening thing we have ever been through,” he said. “It was hell. But the magic is that she pulled through beautifully. Great Ormond Street was terrific, a great hospital.”

Depp’s donation was followed by a pledge of $1.96 million from The Walt Disney Co. as part of a partnership to help the hospital raise $19.6 million for a redevelopment that will include a Disney-branded interactive zone for children and youths.

The relationship between Disney and Great Ormond Street dates to 1939, when Walt Disney acquired the animation rights to “Peter Pan” from the hospital. “Peter Pan” author J.M. Barrie gifted the hospital all rights to the story in 1929.

Feeding a Bat

Johnny Depp is without a doubt the greatest pirate we’ve ever seen.

While filming “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales“ in Australia, the actor made some time to visit the Australian Bat Clinic & Wildlife Trauma Centre, where he sponsored an orphaned baby bat fittingly named Jackie Sparrow.

One-Eyed Horse

Untitled-design-1-6-770x405.jpg

But the horse actor in "Sleepy Hollow" is the one who stole Depp's country-lovin' heart. Named Gunpowder in the film, Ichabod Crane's stallion is actually called Goldeneye off-stage. The name is fitting, too, considering the horse has only one eye.

The equine and actor met in 1999. Goldeneye was reportedly going to be put down after the filming, though the reasoning remains unclear. Regardless, Depp stepped in to save the horse from an untimely end.

Depp is known to have a big heart and takes care of those whom he loves. Including Goldeneye!

Gibsons Steakhouse

filmingpublicenemy_thumb.jpg

Although, to Depp, money is not the be-all-end-all, he certainly has made a difference in one waiter’s life via his money.  Johnny Depp, along with his "Public Enemies" co-star Marion Cotillard, director Michael Mann, and others — who were in Chicago last week for the premiere of the Chicago-filmed “Public Enemies” — made a stop at Gibsons Steakhouse around 11:30 PM, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Once the bill came around 2:30 AM – totaling up to a reported $4,400 – Depp made sure the man who waited on the group into the late hours was well compensated for his time, as Mohammaed Sekhani reportedly received a $4,000 tip from the star.

"He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming ‘Public Enemies’ and he promised me that he would return after the premiere," Sekhani told Radar Online.

According to the longtime Gibsons waiter, Depp and his friends ordered items including shrimp cocktails, Clams Casino, as well as a few expensive bottles of wine.

"He also ordered some $500 bottles of Italian wine and he was in good spirits throughout the evening chatting with Mr. Mann and Miss Cotillard," Sekhani added.

Generous tip aside, Sekhani said he always enjoys waiting on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star each time he visits Gibsons.

"Because he had visited us before he calls me ‘Mo’ and I know exactly the way he likes to be treated. He may be one of the most famous actors in the world but he is a very ‘humble guy’ and a really cool dude," the waiter continued. "I have worked with a lot of stars like Sean Connery and Robert De Niro but Johnny Depp is my favorite He is a very soft spoken guy who is very charming and sweet – when I wait for him he doesn’t like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding."
